I almost went so far as to say that “I called it” last week when I theorized a possible threesome, but things come crashing down pretty quickly when Rue tells Jules she can’t stand her, and later Elliot tells Jules that Rue has relapsed. We can’t forget the continuation of their sexy game of truth or dare, which definitely induced some butterflies for me. While some of the other character arcs feel stalled, the Rue/Elliot/Jules triangle truly makes some progress this episode. There are small instances of gratification, such as when the attraction between Jules and Elliot reaches its boiling point and they finally kiss, but otherwise we’re left begging for more. The tension between Rue, Jules, and Elliot is perhaps the most satisfying part of this episode. It isn’t too surprising that Hunter Schafer and Dominic FIke might be involved in the real world, too. As they do unspeakable things to each other’s hands, it becomes clear why: the chemistry between Jules and Elliot trumps whatever he and Rue may have had. Jules and Elliot have grown closer, leaving Rue as the outsider. Jules goes to Elliot for advice following the disaster, and something has noticeably shifted in the trio’s dynamic since the last episode. When Rue fakes an orgasm, we discover that while Zendaya’s acting is admirable, Rue isn’t much of an actor herself. My personal favorite was their reproduction of Brokeback Mountain, featuring a mini horse and a dramatized makeout that provided much-needed comic relief for this episode.Īfter reveling in the delight of the film recreations, Rue and Jules’s sex scene brings us back to the desolate reality that is Episode 4-and it only goes downhill from here. What’s better is the ensuing sequence in which Rue and Jules recreate classic paintings and iconic film scenes among the likes of The Birth of Venus, Ghost, and Titanic, as Rue basks in her love for Jules. Yes, they’re finally doing it, but Rue is also so high on opiates she can’t feel a thing she says Jules might as well be licking her ankle. While this episode delivers on Euphoria ’s characteristic awe-inspiring visuals and memorable soundtrack, the plot and characters once again fall flat.Īs always, Sam Levinson throws us into the deep end with the episode’s opening sequence-how could we stop watching after something as alluring as last week’s butt shot? This episode opens on Jules going down on Rue, which I both love and hate to see. Of course it had its impressive, entertaining moments, but “You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can” is defined primarily by its absurdity-which is in some moments a joy to watch, and in others, painstakingly difficult to sit through. But I finished this episode more appalled than amazed. As audiences wait for the teen drama's next season, it's the best time to look back at some of the quotes from Rue's special that have helped provide context about her character and story arc in the series so far.“Euphoria” hits its breaking point in episode 4Įuphoria never fails to shock, and Season 2 Episode 4 is no different. Of course, Ali's best quotes in Euphoria also come from that diner scene and serve as important lessons about the disease of addiction. Some of Rue's famous lines are from that episode, and they've helped viewers understand her actions and decisions better. Updated on March 11th, 2022, by Hannah Saab: Rue's special still continues to be a popular topic of discussion and debate among fans. It also became clear just how much she hates herself and Ali wanted her to see that it doesn't have to be that way. The only thing that makes her feel temporarily good is drugs. She doesn't see any hope in the world where people lie, cheat, and hurt each other. She is a girl, caught in a profound existential crisis. To reduce Rue to just an addict would do her a great disservice. RELATED: 15 Most Memorable Quotes From The Jules Special In Euphoria So if the HDMI signal coming out of my DirecTV DVR is HDCP 1.3 which then passes through an HDMI splitter/stripper which then passes through this HDCP 2.2 embedder, would the signal coming out of the embedder need the HDCP 2.2 stripped as well before it gets to my capture card?Īnother issue with the Gofanco HDMI embedder is that the very first Amazon reviewer (who is trying to embed 5.1 audio into HDMI) states, "So I’ve noticed an audio delay is introduced when embedding optical audio. One worry I would have about using the Gofanco HDMI embedder in your link is that it uses HDCP 2.2. How would I be able to tell if the S/PDIF from my DirecTV DVR outputs LPCM or AC3? 2 years a go I looked at Blackmagic Intensity products and they could only record in 2 ch stereo, but virtualdub2 wasn't around then either. I'm just trying to strip HDCP off of OTA broadcast content, not copyrighted stuff.įLP437, I'd be interested to see what your testing shows. Has any established company come out with a video capture card that records losslessly and also captures 5.1 audio? Or is there any other way to achieve my goal?Īnd what's the latest on HDCP strippers? I have an older one, but I don't know if it strips the latest version or not. I am now recording OTA directly onto my HDD via a tuner card, which solves the problem going forward but doesn't help transferring the OTA material that's been recorded in the past, so unfortunately I'm kind of back to square one with this. I still have the same goal to transfer this recorded material. The capture card worked on Windows Vista, but now I'm using Windows 10, so I assume that's the problem. Reinstalling the Skydigital capture software and drivers does nothing. I have the last known driver and the company Skydigital and its website now appears to be defunct with no new drivers. I keep getting filter load and filter connect errors telling me that the driver may not be properly installed and to reinstall the driver. This capture card worked for a while, but now it won't even display the video being inputted. I thought I had this problem solved with the Korean Skydigital SKY CaptureU 3.0 external capture card after a very thorough discussion in this thread from 2017 during which I learned a lot. Compression is OK as long as it is lossless. I want to transfer them losslessly onto a very large computer hard drive. I am looking again to professionally transfer recordings that have been recorded over the years via OTA antenna onto DirecTivo HD DVRs. You won’t be able to read using the light, but it’s bright enough for when you’re fumbling for your glasses or going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There’s an adjustable night-light hidden at the base that’s easily turned on and off, using the large button on top of the clock (it also works as the snooze button). We also liked the clock’s all-black exterior (it comes in a white and black option, too), which is free of distracting lights or branding. But it’s clear, and it automatically sets the time once connected to a Wi-Fi network. Of clocks we’ve tested, this one’s display isn’t the largest or the brightest. And though the clock’s single-speaker output can be a bit tinny for playing music, it can get surprisingly loud and is just fine for alarm tones and answering Google Assistant prompts. Fortunately, the clock’s two microphones (one in the front, the other in the back) are very sensitive and able to discern commands, even when we used a hushed volume at night. To set the alarm, adjust the volume, or turn on the night-light, it was always much easier to summon help with a “hey, Google …” instead. There’s also a tap at the top to enable the snooze feature, but it sometimes required another touch to register. Unless you’re looking at them from above, the buttons are discernible only by touch, and I often fumbled at night or in the early morning while trying to turn on music or adjust the volume. Even though the clock is outfitted with four evenly distributed buttons-for volume, turning on music, and the alarm settings-they are obscured from view due to the angled wedge design. Most everything this alarm clock can do is hidden, accessed using its built-in Google Assistant voice controls or with the Google Home app.

The later Triplex lens style (a cellulose acetate lens sandwiched between glass ones) became more popular, and alongside plain cellulose acetate they became the standard into the 1930s.
